Lotus Domino is the system SUNYIT uses for email and calendar. It is an integrated enterprise email and calendar system that has a client interface and a web interface. The Lotus Notes client is commonly called Notes and the web interface is called either Webmail or Lotus Web Access.

Employees access the system with Lotus Notes on their office computers and can also use it on their home computers. Students and employees who do not have office computers will access the system with Lotus Web Access.

SUNYIT email is filtered for spam and viruses. Attachments that are potentially damaging are removed. No filter is perfect or able to protect against all types of problematic email. Therefore, common sense and caution are needed when dealing with email messages.
