SUNYIT students, faculty and staff are eligible for computer accounts to access computing and network resources. A SITNet ID is provided to students, faculty and staff automatically.

Like a driver's license, it can only be used by the person to whom it has been issued. It is created automatically, but needs to be activated before it can be used. The activation process involves creating a security question and answer pair, a secure password, and accepting the Statement of Responsibility Agreement and Computer and Network Statement of Responsibility.
